Each year during the winter between January and March Arrowhead Provincial Park hosts a Cross Country Ski Race for young kids. It is a fun day for the kids to get out with their friends to enjoy the fresh air and have a little competition. Arrowhead is an amazing Provincial Park that offers skating, tubing, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and ski jouring.
The race at the end of January or beginning of February is a Skate Ski or Cross Country race and the race in March is Cross Country only. Kids start the races around 10am and the day is done by 1pm. Hot Chocolate and Pizza is served throughout the races. There is a building where the kids can warm up and eat also. If you are looking for something that involves exercise and fun for your kids then this is a great sport. I have three children ages 6 - 9 and they all enjoy the sport so much.
